At Boynton’s department store, Robotic Companions (RCs) Ruby and Charlie want nothing more than to be purchased by a human family and brought to their “forever post.” But as Ruby and Charlie wait patiently, Violet arrives at the store, a brand-new 6th generation RC. Violet knows things that Ruby and Charlie don’t, fueling deep uncertainty about their fate along with a newfound desire for freedom.
New Art City Theatre, Ventura’s newest professional theatre company, presents their second annual festival of new works, Festival ’25, in the Martin V. And Martha K Smith Pavillion. Watch as a team of professional actors and directors bring to life four brand-new plays by playwrights from across the country, chosen from a field of 258 submissions. There will be two performances (matinee and evening) of a new play each day. See all four over the course of one weekend, June 12-15, 2025.
