Captain Sandaker and First Lieutenant Wallace, two-man crew of a remote missile silo, hold the literal keys to the U.S. nuclear arsenal. Locked in an underground control room, the two missileers try to find ways to keep the terror—and the boredom—of nuclear watch at bay while not losing their tether to reality. As personal secrets become nuclear ones, Wallace and Sandaker must decide where their loyalties lie and face the fact that there are worse things than missiles buried underground.
New Art City Theatre, Ventura’s newest professional theatre company, presents their second annual festival of new works, Festival ’25, in the Martin V. And Martha K Smith Pavillion. Watch as a team of professional actors and directors bring to life four brand-new plays by playwrights from across the country, chosen from a field of 258 submissions. There will be two performances (matinee and evening) of a new play each day. See all four over the course of one weekend, June 12-15, 2025.
