Ivor Davis: Up Close and Personal with Chris Hillman

After the wildly successful, MVC members-only Zoom series Behind the Scenes with Ivor Davis wrapped up in the fall of 2020, the Museum of Ventura County was thrilled to present Ivor Davis: Up Close and Personal, a new Zoom series featuring a rotating guest list of notable and celebrated Ventura County residents, including Chris Hillman, Malcom McDowell, Miriam Arichea, and more. This new series is free and open to the public with registration.

On Thursday, January 21st, 2021 @ 6:30pm, musician Chris Hillman joined Mr. Davis for the first installment of this series. Members and past visitors might recall “An Evening of Song & Stories with Chris Hillman” in January 2019, when Chris Hillman and Herb Pederson performed classics by the Byrds and Chris’ solo albums in the Museum’s Pavilion in support of the exhibit, “Chris Hillman: Time Between.” Among the topics of conversation, Ivor Davis interviewed Chris Hillman about his recent memoir, “Time Between: My Life as a Byrd, Burrito Brother, and Beyond,” his time living in Ventura County, his rock ‘n roll roots, and much more.

Ivor Davis: Up Close and Personal will return on February 4, 2021 with actor Malcolm McDowell and on February 25, 2021 with concert pianist Miriam Arichea. Registration is free, and a suggested donation in any amount will allow us to continue providing valuable programming.
