The Museum of Ventura County Announces the George Stuart Historical Figures® ExhibitionNapoleon: Revolution, Romance, and Rivalries

Ventura, CA – The Museum of Ventura County is pleased to announce the opening of its newest George Stuart Historical Figures® exhibition, Napoleon: Revolution, Romance, and Rivalries. The exhibition opens Thursday, February 22, 2024, and will be on display through September 15, 2024, inviting visitors to delve into the multifaceted life of Napoleon Bonaparte.

The exhibition invites visitors to explore the captivating story of Napoleon Bonaparte, from his rise to power in the aftermath of the French Revolution to his entangled relationships with other global leaders. Through meticulously crafted figures by George Stuart, including Napoleon Bonaparte, Marie Antoinette, Maximilien Robespierre, Empress Josephine, and more, visitors will witness the significant impact of Napoleon on the course of history.

Set against the backdrop of late 18th-century Europe, characterized by revolutionary fervor and ideological upheaval, the exhibition contextualizes Napoleon’s ascent to power. Amidst the chaos of the French Revolution, Napoleon emerged as a dynamic figure, seizing the opportunity to fill the void left by the crumbling old order.

“We are excited to present this exhibition, which offers a deeper understanding of Napoleon Bonaparte and his era,” said Carlos Ortega, Chief Curator, at the Museum of Ventura County. “Through George Stuart’s intricate creations, visitors will embark on a journey through time, exploring the complexities of one of history’s most influential figures.”

The George Stuart Historical Figures® collection is renowned for its lifelike representations of historical figures, meticulously crafted that offer an immersive experience into the past. Through exhibitions and educational programs, George Stuart Historical Figures® aims to bring history to life for audiences worldwide.
