With social distancing in place, sharing information in new ways has become a much bigger part of our every day lives. Many of us were already sharing virtually; now we’re becoming experts at Zoom and FaceTime, posting about our #quarantinestories on social media, and working to stay connected. We have a few suggestions for sharing your stories:
Ways to Capture Your Story:
- Start a Family History email chat. One way to gather even more stories is by getting the sharing started. Why not email family members with what you’ve discovered and see what they might be able to add to the collection?
- Post to social media. Share with family and friends by posting to social media. Tag the museum or include the following hashtags: #askyourelders #quarantinestories #venturacountyfamilyhistoryproject
- Plan a Zoom Family History hour! Or Skype or whatever platform you prefer.
- Share with the Museum. If your story is related to Ventura County, we’d like to hear it! You can share it with Museum staff by emailing us at library@venturamuseum.org or contacting us on social media. Your stories might help future researchers learn more about our history and culture.
