In honor of National AIDS Awareness month, the Museum of Ventura County will host a reception, 6:30 p.m., Oct. 19, to benefit the Museum and the Diversity Collective of Ventura County’s HIV/AIDS prevention and education program. The reception will showcase “Bringing the Boys Home,” four blocks of quilt panels from the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt, handsewn by members of NAMES Project Ventura County in the 1990s, brought back by the Quilt Project Gold Coast, Ventura County’s newest AIDS nonprofit.
The Museum of Ventura County is located at 100 East Main St., Ventura and is open Tuesday through Sunday 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. For more information on the exhibit and museum events call (805) 653-0323.
