A year after the Thomas Fire, published author explores its impact in comparison to storied fires of the past.
Speaking of Ventura County Series continues on Saturday, January 5, 2019 from 1 pm to 2:30 pm with author Betsy J. Green in the Martin V. and Martha K. Smith Pavilion at the Museum of Ventura County. Betsy J. Green will present a talk and slideshow about the Great Forest Fires of 1917, and how they compared to the Thomas Fire of 2017.
Betsy J. Green has been a writer for more than 25 years. As a freelancer, she contributed articles to newspapers and magazines in the U.S. and abroad. She specializes in writing about local history, architecture, and the environment.
Members of the Museum are offered free admission. Non-members are offered $5 admission, which also includes admission into the Museum of Ventura County (Ventura) and the Agricultural Museum (Santa Paula) on the same day.
