The Docent Volunteer Council of the Museum of Ventura County presents Issues and Challenges of Managing Groundwater, Our Current Drought, and the Future with Water in Ventura County, by Lynn Maulhardt, Ventura County farmer and member of the United Water Conservation District.
Mr. Maulhardt will review the water issues and challenges facing primarily, the Oxnard plain and the Santa Clara River Valley of Ventura County. He will illustrate water supply distribution, water demand, and projects designed to enhance the long-term sustainability of our local water resources. Much of the discussion will focus on the work of United Water Conservation District and the Fox Canyon Ground Water Management Agency and other stakeholders, as they develop management solutions to preserve and protection water resources.
Lynn E. Maulhardt represents Division 4, northeast of the City of Oxnard. His family has been farming since 1869, and he is a managing partner of a Ventura County farm. Mr. Maulhardt is active in community water activities and has served as chairman of Fox Canyon Groundwater Management Agency.
