Free First Sunday – Celebrate the Summer Solstice at the Museum of Ventura County

Join us from 11 a.m.– 5 p.m. on June 4—our Free First Sunday—to commemorate the approach of summer at the Museum of Ventura County, 100 Main Street, Ventura. The summer solstice is recognized through holidays, festivals and rituals around the world. Come enjoy our new Michael Pearce, “Secret Paintings” exhibit, rife with allegory, depicting grand adventures across his canvases. Other events include a talk by psychotherapist, Dr. Ron Thurlow, on esoteric astrology and how the twelve zodiac signs affect our consciousness. Learn about the solstice, get your fortune told, make your own fortune teller craft and explore the museum’s mystical fairy garden. Admission is free for Free First Sunday.

The Ag Museum is also celebrating the summer solstice. Located at 926 Railroad Avenue, Santa Paula, from 11a.m.–5 p.m., the museum will be open to explore on Free First Sunday and will have a free paper plate sundials craft, 1-3 p.m. For more information, call 805-525-3100.
