2019 Ventura Film Society 2.0 Launch Reception

The Ventura Film Society is hosting a reception at the Museum of Ventura County on December 7th to preview the 2019 season The reception begins at 5 p.m and will feature live music, refreshments, screenings from local artist, commentary from past VFS members and introductions from past VFS director Lorenzo Destefano, along with new director, Mike Miller. The Museum is located at 100 E. Main St., Ventura.

“Please join us this December for a reception with live music performances, food, special screenings and a celebration of the new VENTURA FILM SOCIETY as we forge a new and exciting cinema experience into 2019 and beyond.” – Mike Miller, Executive Director

The Ventura Film Society is about to be reborn. Founded by Ventura-based filmmaker Lorenzo DeStefano in 2008, the VFS brought over 400 films to discerning audiences in this California beach town before going on hiatus in 2016 so that Lorenzo could produce and direct his latest film, “Hearing is Believing”. Lorenzo congratulates the new VFS Team of Mike Miller, Braedon Freeland, Gina Nemo, John-Arthur Ingram & Justin Viar as they embark on the next generation of bringing independent films and filmmakers to Ventura.

Lorenzo is pleased to have been approached by Mike and his colleagues to take the VFS into a bright new future of using cutting-edge cinema to help discover the world around us. Please support their efforts in the coming months as they continue on their own path of celebrating Film as Public Art and bringing people together in the dark.” — Lorenzo Destefano, Founder & Former Director, Ventura Film Society
