Channel Islands Bike Club Is presenting free public programs at the Museum of Ventura County. Their spring programs series are featuring local non-profit organizations that are protecting land and providing outdoor recreational activities. Their second program in this series is on April 20. The Ojai Valley Land Conservancy (OVLC) owns and manages over 2,000 acres throughout the Ventura River Valley. OVLC’s mission is to protect and restore open space, wildlife habitat, watersheds, and scenic beauty in the Ojai Valley for future generations. OVLC preserves are open to the public.
OVLC is actively restoring native plants and has constructed excellent hiking and biking trails on their preserves. In fact, OVLC received a grant in 2021 from the Channel Islands Bicycle Club to improve a bike path on their Ojai Meadows Preserve.Speaker Brendan Taylor, OVLC Director of Field Programs, will talk about how the Conservancy is balancing recreational use with protection of native plants, wildlife and scenic values.
The Channel Islands Bicycle Club (CIBike) is a recreational cycling club in Ventura County.
