Sometimes reading about history can be boring.
With all those dates and battles and dead people…how are we supposed to remember it all? Why should we care?
Archaeology reminds us that history isn’t just the story of past events, but the story of people who were just like us: they had thoughts, feelings, ideas, and opinions…and they also had individual and collective stories to tell. Some of those stories are not included in history books, and that is where archaeology comes to the rescue! The artifacts left behind can tell us those stories, give us a glimpse into the daily lives of people of the past, and help us better understand how we got to where we are today.
