Teachers and students have had to adapt quickly in response to schools and universities closing due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Libraries, archives, and museums have worked during this time to make their collections available to the public and to students and teachers who suddenly find themselves in a 100% online learning environment.

In May, the Museum partnered with Ventura College photography professors Brian Paumier and Jessie Groves for a new take on the exquisite corpse concept. Students were asked to use the Museum’s online photograph archive to find inspiration for a final project. They chose an image to recreate or base their own image on and submitted both a screen shot of the archival image and their own creations. Presented here are the original photograph screenshots the students selected and the images they created based on those selections.
