Norse mythology consists of tales of various deities, beings, and heroes derived from numerous sources, including medieval manuscripts, archaeological representations, and folk tradition. The widespread publication of Norse myths and legends eventually helped to spread these stories throughout Europe, especially in Germany, Scandinavia, and Great Britain. The current popularity in superhero comic fiction and fantasy literature, makes this exhibit a timely one. Visit the world of the Valkyries, Loki and Thor, and Siegfried and the dragon Fafnir in this rarely seen George Stuart exhibit.
Nordic Myths and Legends is on display at the Museum of Ventura County from March 6, 2020—June 15, 2020.
