POSTPONED – Agriculture Career Exploration Day

Due to school cancelations around health and safety concerns the Museum of Ventura County is postponing this year’s 5th Annual Agriculture Career Exploration Day. We apologize for any inconvenience and will plan to reschedule this event in conjunction with Ventura County Ag Week in spring of 2021.

School Registration Required to Attend

The 5th Annual Agriculture Career Exploration Day takes place at the Agriculture Museum in Santa Paula on Friday, March 13, 2020 from 11AM—2PM. During the Ag Career Exploration Day, representatives from colleges and Ventura County based agriculture businesses will set-up information tables and talk to students about the agriculture education programs and available careers in the agriculture industry. Middle and high school students from throughout the county will participate

*** This portion of Ag Career Exploration Day is open only to registered schools. Please contact the Museum’s education department to pre-register your class or with any questions about how to participate by emailing education@venturamuseum.org.

This event is organized in conjunction with Ventura County Ag Week and in partnership with Totally Local VC, Ventura County Office of Education, Topa Topa Flywheelers, and the Museum of Ventura County/Agriculture Museum.

Kat Merrick, Founder & CEO of Totally Local VC and the Founder of Ventura County Ag Week, has a clear vision for her project. “We want to focus on all of the different aspects agriculture plays. People don’t realize how many jobs link back to agriculture in their lives. A major part of Ag Week is the education component. All week long we take students to farms, ranches, commercial kitchens, to the port, etc., to help students understand all of the links from field to fork, and from field to career.” Totally Local VC is a collaborative initiative focused on promoting the importance and success of the local agriculture and business community.

For the very first time, the Agriculture Career Exploration Day will open to the general public from 2—4PM on Friday, March 13, 2020.
