Kids and adults “engineer: their own Rube Goldberg machine and more on Free First Sunday.
It’s free admission and creative fun for all ages at the Agriculture Museum, 11-2 p.m., May 6, as visitors invent their own Rube Goldberg Machines with everyday items. A Rube Goldberg machine is a contraption, invention, device or apparatus that is deliberately over-engineered to perform a simple task in a complicated fashion, generally including a chain reaction. Museum-goers can watch fun Rube Goldberg videos on the big screen, play with an assortment of mechanical toys from Gene West the Toymaker and enjoy family time exploring the exhibits currently on display. The Agriculture Museum is located 926 Railroad Avenue, Santa Paula.
Sponsored by TOLD Corporation and museum supporter Mimi Allin, Free First Sunday offers free admission all day.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Plenty of free parking. For more information visit venturamuseum.org or call 805-525-3100.
