As an artist new to Ventura, I’m a reflection of our environment. Whether walking the wet sand along Hollywood Beach or admiring a garden, it all tends to coalesce in my art. Originally from San Francisco, I moved to the desert in the late 90’s, soaked in the winter sun and marveled at the minimalist landscape. Working with metallic and mirrors on canvas and linen, I created my desert collages. Now living in Ventura, I’ve gone botanical with my painting, and whatever items I might find on the beach, get added into my collages. I have a collection of discarded dinosaurs, left without a thought on the sand. Winter storms and high surf will likely continue to expand my collage collection. The Xcrows came about with the help of a bird feeder on the deck. Inspiration is everywhere! My work has recently been exhibited at the Palm Springs Museum, Vita Art Center, and over the summer, “The Weed Project: Outlaws of the Super Bloom & Crimes We Commit in the Garden” was on view for 3 months at the Museum of Ventura County.
