The Past on a Plate: The Photographs of John Calvin Brewster

Ventura County life between 1874 and 1909 is captured on the glass plate negatives of Ventura’s first photographer. Brewster’s images,
as well as artifacts from then, provide a fascinating look at that time period’s streets, neighborhoods, movers & shakers, and ordinary citizens.

The exhibit runs April 25-August 17 at new 89 California Street site.

Museum To Open 
Temporary Location 
With New Exhibits
Free Public Reception April 26

The Museum’s will soon move to a nearby temporary location at 89 S. California Street in Ventura, corner of California and Santa Clara Streets. A members-only reception will be held Thursday, April 24 from 4-8. The free public opening reception will be Saturday, April 26, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., during Ventura’s Spring ArtWalk. Both events sponsored by Montecito Bank & Trust. The 100 East Main Street location closed recently, in anticipation of the planned construction expansion.
